Tips for great family portraits:
- Clothing choices play an important role in your portraits. Try to dress everyone in a basic color scheme. Of course, solid colors always work great. Avoid bold patterns in checks and stripes.
- Be prepared for your session. Have your clothing choices ready at least one day prior to your session to avoid any stress the day of the session.
- Wear clothing that suits your lifestyle; in some of our best-loved portraits, family members are dressed very casual.
- Consider where you might want to place a wall portrait...what colors are going to work best there...formal or informal...vertical or horizontal format.
- Most important of all, stay relaxed! Bob will get everybody to smile, the session will be really fun. Bob will take lots of different poses, on alternate backgrounds if you like.
- For a more meaningful portrait, cosider your home...around a fireplace of in the backyard. Young children seem to be much more responsive when in their own environment.
- When pets are involved, please plan on being 10 to 15 minutes early; dogs require some lead time to settle down. Have the Pet groomed the day before to session just to relieve some stress. We work with all animals and can get great expression but it sometimes takes patience.
